The Swedish Trade Minister Ewa Björling visited Erbil, Iraqi Kurdistan on May 31, together with a Swedish business delegation.
A big step was taken in the Kurdish-Swedish relationships when the Foreign Minister of Sweden, Carl Bildt, inaugurated the Consulate: “We have a selfish interest in developing a consulate here – there has developed a kind of small Kurdistan in Sweden, so it is our mission to develop a small Sweden in Kurdistan.”
The Foreign Minister handed over credentials from the King of Sweden, Carl Gustaf XVI, to the Swedish Consul in Erbil, Carl Henrik Assargård – here with his wife Ann-Sofi Glans.
Also the Embassy of Sweden in Baghdad, was officially inaugurated yesterday. Swedish Ambassador in Baghdad is Niclas Trouvé.
The outcome of the Iraqi parliamentary election on 7th of March is of crucial importance to the economic development of the country.
Campaigning started on 7th of February.
First time in history Iraqis in 16 countries in the world can cast their vote.
Captain Shepherd will visit schools to inspire students for future visions and helps KRG, Kurdistan Regional Government in future planning of business strategies for Kurdistan. On the occasion of French National Day, French General Consul in Erbil, Iraq, Dr Frédéric Tissot held a reception. President of Kurdistan, Masoud Barzani honoured the occasion by visiting the celebration.
“We wanted to see with our own eyes the country where many of our students come from.
We live in families both in Sulemaniya and Erbil. This is an overwhelming experience. Babel Tours is new and original Tour Operator arranging tours in Kurdistan´s historical sites. Babel Tours inaugurated at the new office in Ainkawa by CEO Hubert Debbash, who also is the owner of the French Terre Entière, and by Consul Général Docteur Frédéric Tissot. The well known archeologist Narmin Ali Amin is the Cultural Counselor of Babel Tours.
